The holiday weekend arrived earlier than I expected.  I sort of meant to plan a roadtrip, but I waited to long, so I'll be hanging around.  In theory, Friday is my day off, but I'll be going in to the office for a couple of hours in the morning, then heading to lunch and then maybe a museum stroll. I finally called the framer to get some stuff properly framed. There's a water color that asimplechord brought back from Italy years ago; it was in a store-bought frame that has given up the ghost. BooksWell, the reading of traditionally published fiction and non-fiction was not great.  Librarything.com tells me that I read 32 books, with 8 of those being the installments of Meljean Brook's Kraken King serial.  The favorite by far was Cary Elwes's memoir of the filming of The Princess Bride.  Brook's Heart of Steel was maybe the best fiction ( Read more... )

Yesterday, I spent a couple of hours reading a class action complaint at work.  It wasn't terribly long, but it mapped out a bunch of entities and charges.  The volume of typos made my brain hurt.  They ranged from misuse of its and it's; variable misspellings of defendants and related entity names; wonky punctuation; and unclosed parenthetical ( Read more... )
